Role Overview

As a Food Service Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our residents receive nutritious, well-presented meals in a friendly and supportive environment. Your contribution is key to the daily comfort and wellbeing of those in our care. This part-time, permanent position based at Rush Court offers a rewarding opportunity to work within a compassionate team dedicated to health and social care excellence.

Key Responsibilities


Assist with the preparation and serving of meals and beverages in line with dietary requirements and care plans.
Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in dining and kitchen areas, adhering to health and safety regulations.
Support residents during mealtimes, providing assistance where needed to ensure a positive dining experience.
Collaborate with care and kitchen staff to ensure smooth service and timely delivery of meals.
Report any concerns relating to food quality, safety, or resident wellbeing to senior staff.
Participate in ongoing training and development to maintain knowledge of best practices in food service and care.


Qualifications and Skills


A genuine interest in working within the health, nursing, and social care sector.
Previous experience in a food service or care environment is advantageous but not essential.
Good communication and interpersonal skills with a friendly, approachable manner.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently when required.
Awareness of food hygiene standards and a willingness to undertake relevant training.
