Summary

Teaching Assistant – Special Educational Needs
Location: Sale
Full Time – Essential

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist SEND school in Sale, supporting pupils with a range of additional needs including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, SEMH and complex learning needs. The school is seeking a committed, resilient and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis.

The Role:
• Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
• Assisting the class teacher with planning and delivering adapted learning activities
• Promoting positive behaviour and emotional regulation strategies
• Supporting communication and social interaction development
• Contributing to EHCP targets and personalised learning plans
• Creating a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment

The Ideal Candidate Will:
• Have experience working with children or young people with SEND
• Demonstrate patience, empathy and resilience
• Be confident supporting pupils with additional communication needs
• Have a good understanding of safeguarding and child protection
• Be able to commit to full-time hours, Monday to Friday
• Work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team
