This full-time position is ideal for a calm, resilient and compassionate individual who is passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning.

About the Role

You will work closely with pupils who require additional emotional and behavioural support to remain engaged in learning and regulate their emotions throughout the school day. The role will involve both 1:1 and small group support, helping pupils develop positive coping strategies, build confidence, and improve their behaviour for learning.

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine impact within a supportive and nurturing school environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide targeted support to pupils with SEMH needs, promoting emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
- Support pupils during lessons, transitions, and unstructured times such as break and lunchtime.
- Implement behaviour support strategies and positive reinforcement approaches in line with school policies.
- Help pupils develop social skills, resilience, and self-esteem.
- Support de-escalation during periods of heightened emotion using calm, consistent strategies.
- Work collaboratively with the class teacher, SENCO and pastoral staff to follow individual behaviour and support plans.

The Ideal Candidate
- Experience supporting children with SEMH, challenging behaviour, or additional needs within a school or similar setting.
- Calm, patient and resilient, with the ability to remain consistent under pressure.
- Confident using positive behaviour management and de-escalation techniques.
- Able to build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and colleagues.
- Full-time availability and the right to work in the UK.

Desirable (but not essential)
- Experience working within a primary school setting.
- Team Teach, MAPA, or other behaviour management training.
- Level 2 or Level 3 Supporting Teaching & Learning qualification.

What we offer
- Free access to CPD and safeguarding training
- Dedicated consultant and ongoing support
