(Full document available as a supporting attachment) JOB TITLE: Technical Project Manager SALARY: N7 REPORTS TO: Head of Digital Delivery RESPONSIBLE TO: Head of Digital Delivery BASE: N3i, Aura Innovation Centre, Hessle WORKING HOURS: 7.5 Hours per day covering a service of 09:00 to 17:00 - Monday to Friday JOB PURPOSE The postholder will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of technical and digital projects across N3i and its customer base, including Primary Care organisations. The role provides structured project management for internal initiatives and customer facing technical programmes, ensuring delivery to agreed scope, time, cost and quality standards. Key Responsibilities Manage a portfolio of technical projects supporting N3i internal services and N3i customers. Lead delivery of the rolling GP IT Refresh programme to replace outdated GP Practice devices. Project manage IT estate moves, site relocations and infrastructure changes. Lead technical onboarding projects for new customers. Maintain clear governance, reporting and risk management across all assigned projects. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Communication Act as the primary point of contact for assigned projects. Communicate complex technical information to non-technical audiences. Engage with GP practices, PCNs, ICBs, customers, suppliers and internal teams to coordinate delivery activity and resolve issues. Provide regular progress updates, highlight reports and escalation of risks, issues and decisions to senior stakeholders. Analytical Tasks Identify, assess and manage project risks, issues and dependencies implementing mitigating actions and escalation as required. Undertake options appraisals and impact assessments for technical delivery approaches and implementation models. Monitor delivery performance using data and feedback, identifying improvement opportunities and lessons learned. Planning and Organisational Skills Plan and manage multiple projects concurrently with competing priorities, adjusting plans in response to operational pressures. Develop and maintain project documentation including plans, milestones, RAID logs, resource schedules and closure reports. Coordinate delivery activity across technical teams, suppliers and customer organisations to meet agreed timescales. Physical Skills Standard keyboard and digital system skills with a high level of accuracy for maintaining plans, documentation and reporting. Occasional travel to GP practices, customer sites and N3i locations as required for delivery, assurance or stakeholder engagement. Policy and Service Development Implementation Ensure projects comply with N3i policies, NHS standards and information governance requirements including data protection. Contribute to the development of project management standards, templates and best practice to improve consistency and quality. Support service redesign and improvement initiatives arising from project outcomes. Responsibilities for Financial and Physical Resources Support management of project budgets, forecasting and value for money considerations in line with N3i financial procedures. Coordinate procurement activity and supplier engagement required for project delivery, including equipment and services. Ensure appropriate use, tracking and deployment of IT equipment during refresh, onboarding and move projects. Responsibilities for Human Resources Coordinate the work of technical staff and suppliers assigned to projects, ensuring clarity of tasks, timelines and deliverables. Provide guidance and support to colleagues contributing to delivery, including structured handovers and deployment coordination. Support induction and knowledge transfer activities associated with new services, refreshed estates or onboarding customers. Responsibilities for Information Resources Maintain accurate project records and documentation in line with organisational standards and audit requirements. Ensure handling of sensitive staff and patient related information complies with data protection and information governance policies. Responsibilities for Research and Development Identify opportunities to improve project delivery approaches and technical implementation models across N3i and customer environments. Support pilots and evaluation of new delivery methods, tools or technologies where appropriate. Freedom to Act The post holder will manage and organise their own workload, use their own initiative and work within the organisations policies and procedures. The postholder will work to agreed objectives and will have the freedom to interpret these and deliver results autonomously. They will be required to identify delivery risks and issues, take corrective action and escalate appropriately through agreed governance. Able to work on own initiative, organising and prioritising own and other workloads to changing and often tight deadlines. This job description is not meant to be exhaustive. Staff should be aware of their individual responsibilities under the Equality Policy and ensure that they comply to the policy which requires that all colleagues and service users be treat with respect. 6. Staff must be aware of their individual responsibilities under the Information Security Policy / standards, ensuring they are aligned with ISO27001 and other regulatory frameworks. 7.
