Crynodeb
To work outside the normal scope of Physiotherapy with the responsibility for triage and ongoing management of highly complex patients referred for a consultant opinion. To provide an advanced level of clinical expertise in the assessment, diagnosis and management of highly complex patients, providing an expert Physiotherapy resource to primary care and secondary care. Working across Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust as a lead specialist physiotherapist within the Orthopaedic Spinal Service and the Musculoskeletal Service providing highly specialised advice & programmes of care. To work independently and autonomously managing a varied and highly complex caseload requiring expert clinical reasoning and diagnostic skills. To provide clinical education, training, supervision and support to all grades of Physiotherapy staff and students within the speciality area. To plan and implement training at a Uni and multi professional level in order to enhance services within the specialism and ensure effective clinical practice across Northumbria Healthcare NHS Trust. The post holder will initiate, facilitate and participate in research and audit within the specialism. To be responsible for standards of physiotherapy practice within a defined sub- specialist field. To support the Clinical Managers in planning and service development.
