A Vacancy at Northumbria Healthcare - NHCT Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly experienced Physiotherapist to work as a Principal Physiotherapist within the Orthopaedic Spinal Team and in the Advanced Practice Physiotherapy team in Northumberland. There may also be a requirement to work as First Contact Practitioner (FCP) in Northumberland as part of the role, depending on service needs.
In their role within the Orthopaedic Spinal Team, the successful candidate will work alongside the Consultant team to deliver outpatient clinics for patients who have been referred into secondary care. This will include managing a complex caseload independently with regular supervision provided by the Consultant body and attendance at the weekly MDT. This is an opportunity to develop skills and practice whilst working as part of a close-knit, supportive team.
The successful candidate will work in the CATS (Clinical Assessment and Treatment Service) where they will be expected to independently manage a complex musculoskeletal caseload.
Locations of work are likely to include a number of sites across the Trust.

• Service provision includes working as part of the Orthopaedic Spinal Team and providing expert assessment and advice within the Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy Service. To be accountable to the Clinical Manager and clinically supervised by an appropriate consultant.
• Predominantly clinical and educational role
• To role model compassionate and inclusive leadership in order to shape the creation of a collective leadership culture within the trust. • To work outside the normal scope of Physiotherapy with the responsibility for triage and ongoing management of highly complex patients referred for a consultant opinion.
• To provide an advanced level of clinical expertise in the assessment, diagnosis and management of highly complex patients, providing an expert Physiotherapy resource to primary care and secondary care.
• Working across Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust as a lead specialist physiotherapist within the Orthopaedic Spinal Service and the Musculoskeletal Service providing highly specialised advice & programmes of care.
• To work independently and autonomously managing a varied and highly complex caseload requiring expert clinical reasoning and diagnostic skills.
• To provide clinical education, training, supervision and support to all grades of Physiotherapy staff and students within the speciality area.
• To plan and implement training at a Uni and multi professional level in order to enhance services within the specialism and ensure effective clinical practice across Northumbria Healthcare NHS Trust.
• The post holder will initiate, facilitate and participate in research and audit within the specialism.
• To be responsible for standards of physiotherapy practice within a defined sub- specialist field.
• To support the Clinical Managers in planning and service development.
