Are you a physiotherapist wanting to enhance your neurological skills?

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within the inpatient bedded unit atHolywell Neurological Unit, based in Watford, Hertfordshire.

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and newly experienced physiotherapist to the team. The role includes managing your own caseload - the caseload includes - assessing and treating patients with stroke / neurological conditions , supported discharge and onwards referral to suitable community team.

Our integrated team comprises of different discipline therapists, nurses, healthcare assistants, and rehabilitation assistants.

Successful applicants will be part of an enthusiastic, patient focused, team caring for patients in the unit & preparing patients to return to the community, while working collaboratively with GPs, acute hospitals, social care and other third sector organisations.

We have a well-established structure for clinical supervision and in service training; this will provide you with fantastic opportunities to enhance your existing knowledge and skills. It will also support your clinical work and professional development.

The post holder will be responsible:

• To perform physiotherapy assessment of patients with neurological presentations on the Stroke and neuro rehabilitation pathways in order to develop and deliver an individualised treatment program.


• To work as part of a multidisciplinary team to facilitate positive rehab outcomes and timely, coordinated discharge planning.


• To fully support initiatives to reduce length of stay, including key working.


• To work flexibly, being willing to provide support on other intermediate care wards when necessary.


• To entertain the possibility of rotation into community based Early Stroke Discharge Team, neuro community team and Watford General Acute and hyper acute Stroke Unit.
