About the role
You will work closely with the Professional Services Accountant providing Business Partnering and Management Accounting Support to a range of Professional Service Departments, including the production of monthly and quarterly management accounting information. You will also support the Costing and Research Accountants with creating and maintaining research projects codes and producing detailed analysis to support the reporting and forecasting of research income and costs as well as ad hoc costings for projects and programmes.
It is essential that you are at least AAT qualified with experience of working in large/complex organisations, providing a quality customer facing service to a variety of users. You should have strong technical knowledge and skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be able to work on your own initiative, but also contribute positively to team goals.
About you
We are looking for a qualified accounting technician (or part qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with experience of delivering Management Accounting information in a large organisation and with excellent written and oral communication skills.
You should have:
* the ability to communicate complex financial concepts to a non-financial audience as well as to work independently within parameters specified by managers and senior colleagues.
* good interpersonal skills, including motivational and team building skills
Experience of working with financial and information systems in the HE sector alongside excellent numeracy and advanced IT skills (Excel and Business Objects) and the ability to develop networks, prioritise tasks and solve problems would be beneficial.

This is a full-time role (36.5 hours per week) for a fixed term period of 12 months.
