Job Description:
Sunrise Community Nursery is looking to employ a Level 3 Qualified Baby Room Leader .
Responsible to: Management
Working Hours: 38 hrs/ week, Monday to Friday (4 day work week)
Grade & Starting salary: £28,652 - £29,640
Location: SE4 2LW, Brockley way
About Sunrise Community Nursery
We are a community-run Nursery with charitable status for babies and children aged from 3 months to 5 years old. We are a large and vibrant setting, providing fantastic early education and childcare to around 110 children.
We believe that every child is unique and deserves a good start in life. Our children are nurtured and cared for by experienced staff in a specially designed space to maximise their potential.
We welcome children and families from all backgrounds into our nursery, and are proud to be run by and for the community. This means we have a genuinely diverse group of staff and children, and work to be inclusive and open throughout the nursery.
The ideal applicant will be driven, passionate, and committed to providing the greatest early childhood education and care possible for our young children in order to support their growth.
Key Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate will be confident in completing settling-in reports and tracking children’s progress in line with the EYFS and Birth to 5 Matters guidance, supporting school readiness and individual development.
To monitor, review, and coach the staff on your team, as well as to plan the effective deployment of personnel throughout the day to ensure that the activities and routines encourage the greatest outcomes for the children.
To provide a stimulating and varied programmes of play and learning opportunities.
To ensure the safety and well-being of the children.
To manage a team effectively.
To fulfil legal and statutory requirements and to supervise staff on a daily basis.
To agree and set team goals and monitor the achievement of progress against targets.
To monitor and assess the quality of provision within your room, ensuring that policies
and procedures, best practice and standards are maintained.
For this role you must have:
You will hold relevant qualifications in Childcare/Early Years at Level 3 or above.
Passionate about early years education and childcare.
Good knowledge of EYFS.
Essential skills/Experience Leadership skills Enthusiasm for working with young children An interest in the care, learning and development of young children A commitment to the provision of high-quality childcare.
Ideal Candidate/Profile1. Set high expectations which inspire, motivate and challenge all children. 2. Promote good progress and outcomes by children. 3. Demonstrate good knowledge of early learning and EYFS. 4. Plan education and care taking account of the needs of all children
