Crynodeb

If you’re an experienced, commercially minded finance professional who enjoys being close to operations — not sat behind a reporting pack — this is a rare opportunity to shape performance at senior level while working reduced hours.

We’re supporting a highly reputable international distribution and operational business with two UK sites and US headquarters. They’re looking for a Site Finance Business Partner to become the trusted finance lead for their Grantham operation.

This isn’t a transactional role. The accounting team sits in the US. What they need in Grantham is someone commercially sharp, confident and proactive — someone who will take ownership, challenge thinking and genuinely add value.

What you’ll really be doing as the Finance Business Partner

You’ll sit on site, working closely with the VP – Operations (UK), with a dotted line into the US VP Finance and UK Finance Director. You’ll be the go-to finance partner for the site.

As the Finance Business Partner you’ll manage a cost centre of circa £10 million covering salaries, site services and operational surcharges, while supporting revenue analysis across operational charging streams.

Your role will blend:

• Strategic business partnering with senior operational leaders
• Full ownership of monthly cost centre reviews and variance analysis
• Revenue and charging mechanism analysis
• Budgeting and forecasting (including advising two senior stakeholders and HR)
• Building business cases for capital projects (including upcoming roof and reception refits)
• Commercial modelling and scenario planning
• Procurement and supplier spend analysis
• Supporting new supply chain developments (inbound & outbound changes introduced this year)
• Ensuring group policy compliance across financial and operational processes

It’s contractual finance, month-end ownership and commercial strategy — all rolled into one.

One of the biggest challenges? Influencing remotely and obtaining the right information from international teams. You’ll need confidence, persistence and credibility.

The environment

This is a business that genuinely trusts its people.

• Dog-friendly office
• A team that enjoys what they do and has fun
• High levels of autonomy
• You’re expected to take control, not wait for direction

It’s a standalone finance presence on site — so you must be comfortable owning the space.

What they’re looking for

• Qualified accountant (CIMA / ACCA / ACA) or qualified by experience
• Strong commercial finance or business partnering background
• Confident influencing senior stakeholders
• Strong analytical and financial modelling capability
• Comfortable in a matrix / multi-stakeholder environment
• Proactive, solutions-focused mindset

Experience with SAP, Anaplan or Power BI would be useful but not essential.

Most importantly — you must want to add value and be prepared to challenge constructively.

Flexibility that actually works

This is a 25-hour per week role, structured in a way that works for you and the business.

You could:

• Work 25 hours consistently each week
• Work 20 hours for three weeks and flex up at month end
• Structure your days around operational needs

After three months, hybrid working is available.

Benefits

• 27 days holiday + bank holidays (pro-rata)
• Contributory pension up to 10%
• Private medical insurance
• Enhanced maternity pay
• Group income protection
• 4x life assurance
• Discretionary bonus (non-contractual, circa 12%)
• High trust, high autonomy culture

Why this opportunity stands out

Part-time senior commercial roles with real influence are rare — especially in operational environments with international exposure.

You’ll have visibility with UK and US leadership.
You’ll manage meaningful budgets.
You’ll influence real operational change.

And you’ll do it with flexibility built in.

If you’re a commercially focused finance professional who wants influence, autonomy and structured flexibility, I’d welcome a confidential conversation.

GRA1
