About VPI

VPI is a leading power company with operations across the UK, Ireland and Germany. We support the energy transition by delivering reliable, flexible and increasingly decarbonised power to millions of homes and businesses. Our portfolio includes thermal generation, battery storage and carbon capture projects, helping solve major system challenges as the UK moves toward a low‑carbon future.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly organised and commercially astute Portfolio Services Contract Lead to ensure that all VPI group-wide contracts deliver maximum value while maintaining compliance, safety and operational effectiveness.

This role spans the entire contract lifecycle - from defining scope, tendering and award, to performance monitoring, renewals and termination. You will act as the central point of coordination between site teams, procurement and external suppliers, ensuring consistent contract execution across the portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the contract management focal point for all group contracts (e.g., Fire Systems, Security, Power, Vehicle Fleet).
  • Develop best‑fit contractual strategies that balance economies of scale with specific site requirements.
  • Liaise with site teams to ensure contracts deliver intended value, minimise risk and maintain regulatory compliance.
  • Own all group-wide contracts, including:
  • Identifying gaps against legislation, regulation or best practice
  • Developing specifications
  • Working with Procurement through tender, review and award
  • Managing invoicing, receipting and commercial administration
Lead ongoing monitoring of contractor performance and compliance, including RAMS coordination and performance metrics. Take corrective action where service delivery does not meet contractual standards. Manage contracts from initiation through to execution, renewal and termination. Serve as company lead for the Stores Management Improvement Programme across VPI assets. Audit site compliance with Stores procedures and drive best practice adoption. Act as main point of contact for internal stakeholders (leadership, procurement, site teams) and external contractors. Work with VPI's cyber security team to ensure physical security and CCTV provision align with NIS compliance.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

  • Strong technical background with solid commercial awareness.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Good understanding of procurement processes and supply chain management.
  • Proven problem‑solving skills with ability to work under pressure.
  • Valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel occasionally to other sites.

Why Join VPI?

  • Play a key role in contract governance that supports critical energy infrastructure.
  • Work across a broad range of contract areas with the opportunity to influence strategy and continuous improvement.
  • Competitive salary and benefits including pension, private medical insurance, incentive plan and 25 days holiday.

Rullion celebrates and supports diversity and is committed to ensuring equal opportunities for both employees and applicants.
