Role Profile
The HR Manager will lead and develop the HR function, ensuring the delivery of a proactive, high-quality people service across the organisation. The role is responsible for driving strategic talent acquisition, overseeing the full employee lifecycle, and ensuring compliance with UK employment legislation. Working closely with senior leadership, the role will help implement people initiatives that support organisational growth, strengthen employee engagement, and promote a positive, values-led culture.

Roles and Responsibilities
• Oversee the full employee lifecycle, ensuring robust and consistent processes across onboarding, probation, performance management, absence, disciplinaries and leavers
• Guide and support managers with practical, solution-focused HR advice on complex employee relations matters
• Ensure accurate record-keeping and high standards of compliance with UK employment legislation
• Lead the review and continuous improvement of HR policies, handbooks and documentation
• Ensure the organisation remains fully compliant with UK employment law and evolving HR best practice
• Oversee the drafting and amendment of employment contracts and contractual changes
• Lead and develop the recruitment team, creating a proactive and strategic approach to talent acquisition
• Oversee end-to-end recruitment processes, ensuring a positive candidate experience and timely hiring, monitoring recruitment metrics, workforce planning and hiring trends to inform business decisions
• Lead, develop and drive the HR function, setting clear priorities and driving a high-performance culture
• Provide direction, coaching and support to HR team members, ensuring consistent, proactive HR delivery across the organisation
• Partner with the management teams to shape and deliver the people strategy in line with business goals
• Provide strategic oversight of the HR system, ensuring data accuracy and effective utilisation
• Lead the review and development of employee benefits across the business
• Champion initiatives that strengthen employee engagement, wellbeing and retention


Experience and Skills Required
• Proven experience in a HR management role, with responsibility for leading and developing an HR and/or recruitment team
• Demonstrable experience managing the full employee lifecycle within a multi-site or growing organisation
• Strong track record of leading end-to-end recruitment and implementing effective talent acquisition strategies
• Experience handling complex employee relations matters with confidence and sound judgement
• Practical experience ensuring compliance with UK employment legislation and HR best practice
• Experience working closely with senior leaders to shape and deliver people strategy
• Experience using HR systems to manage data, reporting and processes
• Commercially minded and pragmatic in approach
• Hands-on, adaptable, and solutions-focused
• Strong attention to detail with a people-first mindset
• CIPD Level 5, ideally Level 7
