Project Manager - Lighting & ElectricalLocation: ManchesterJob Type: Full-time

About the RoleWe are looking for an experienced Project Engineering Manager to lead a team of Project Engineers delivering Lighting & Electrical works. This role is a blend of leadership, field management, customer engagement, and operational excellence. You will spend at least 60% of your time in the field, ensuring high‑quality delivery and supporting your engineering team.

Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Team Management
-Lead and manage day‑to‑day performance of Project Engineers.

-Conduct performance reviews, coaching, training, and management of attendance and conduct.

-Oversee induction and integration of agency staff on specific projects.

-Drive a high‑performance culture through consistent leadership.

Health, Safety & Quality Assurance
-Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety policies and procedures.

-Conduct site audits, vehicle checks, toolbox talks, investigations, and compliance reviews.

-Promote a strong culture of safety and continuous improvement.

Project Delivery & Field Management
-Spend minimum 60% of time onsite supporting engineers and ensuring quality delivery.

-Coordinate and supervise subcontractors and service partners as needed.

-Support planning and resource allocation to deliver projects efficiently.

Commercial & Financial Management
-Meet or exceed budget targets within the P&L account.

-Identify additional revenue opportunities and support in delivering them.

-Price small works and variations as required.

Customer Relationship Management
-Build and maintain strong relationships with customers.

-Ensure escalations are handled promptly and professionally.

-Maintain high levels of communication and customer satisfaction.

General
-Prepare reports and maintain accurate documentation.

-Attend mandatory training and appraisal sessions.

-Undertake additional duties aligned with role capability.

What We're Looking For
-Relevant technical qualification in Electrical, M&E, or related field.

-Strong experience in the M&E or FM industry.

-Proven track record managing engineering teams and subcontractors.

-Experience in planning, scheduling, and supervising project work.

-Ability to organise materials, equipment, and resources.

-Strong commercial awareness and ability to meet deadlines.

-Excellent communication, IT skills, and report-writing capability.

-Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem‑solving skills.

-Passion for delivering excellent customer service.
