Masstemps are currently looking for a skilled CAD Estimator Engineer on behalf of one of our busy clients in the Wolverhampton area.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled CAD Estimator Engineer. The ideal candidate will be responsible for reviewing and analysing CAD drawings and technical specifications to prepare accurate cost estimates for engineering projects. You will work closely with engineers, and procurement teams to ensure reliable budgeting and competitive quotes, which will ultimately lead to successful orders. Additionally you will work with the production team to produce samples for approval while identifying the best production practices.
Key Responsibilities:
--Review and interpret CAD drawings and technical documents.
-- Prepare detailed cost estimates for labour, materials, equipment, and subcontracted services.
--Update and modify CAD drawings as required to support project development and costing.
--Liaise with vendors and subcontractors to gather pricing and availability information.
--Maintain and update cost databases, historical pricing records, and estimation templates.
--Collaborate with design, engineering, and project management teams to ensure alignment of design and budget.
Qualifications:
· GCSE grades C/4 or higher.
· Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
· 2 – 5 years of experience in CAD.
· Good understanding of engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing methods.
· Great analytical and mathematical skills.
· Strong organizational, time-management, and communication abilities.
Preferred Skills (Optional but Beneficial):
· Experience with 2D or other 3D CAD tools.
· Experience with programming of laser, punching and bending machines.
· Experience with cost estimation.
· Microsoft Office Skills (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Hours: Monday to Thursday 8am to 4:30pm, Friday 8am to 3:30pm
Pay: £13.75ph
