Due to the nature of the project, candidates must hold current and active clearance at the time of application.
Overview
An opportunity exists for an experienced Senior Process Design Engineer with expertise in small-scale pond abatement, local silt/swarf removal, and design justification. The role involves supporting multi-disciplinary teams on a developing programme at Sellafield, contributing to technically robust, safe, and compliant project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply Lessons Learned (LFE) and operational plant knowledge throughout the design and delivery process.
- Review and approve Technical Queries (TQs) to ensure safe and efficient site works.
- Produce NFRs, feasibility documentation, and Design Justification Reports for submission to the MSC.
- Check and approve process discipline plans, drawings, and quantities for technical accuracy and compliance.
- Manage and control Process design documentation, including drawings and specifications.
- Maintain configuration control of engineering deliverables and associated site works.
- Collaborate with designers and stakeholders to ensure adherence to design and construction standards.
- Provide regular updates and progress reports to the Project Engineering Manager (PEM).
- Plan and prioritise work, resolving technical challenges and adapting to project setbacks.
- Contribute operational and site knowledge to Design and Constructability Reviews.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Strong plant knowledge and experience in operational environments.
- Experience using CIMAGE within the Sellafield system.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with a proactive, can-do attitude.
