Role Title: Senior Quality Assurance Engineer
Role Type: Full-Time, Contract

Start date: ASAP
Locations: Whitehaven

Hours of work: 40 hours per week

Salary: Inside IR35

Due to the nature of the project, candidates must hold current and active clearance at the time of application.

Role Overview

  • Develop, review and approve Quality Plans and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), ensuring appropriate verification activities are carried out in line with project requirements.
  • Work closely with Quality Control and ICG teams to confirm process compliance and ensure documentation such as ITPs and welding procedures meet required standards.
  • Monitor and uphold project quality standards across the TDA Project, raising formal documentation where deviations are identified.
  • Maintain and update the Integrated Management System (IMS) as necessary to ensure continued compliance.
  • Track package progress and status, escalating issues where required and liaising with both project teams and client QA/QC representatives.
  • Provide support during internal and external audits, managing corrective actions to drive continual improvement and reduce non-conformances.
  • Advise procurement teams on supplier capability and quality performance to inform vendor selection decisions.
  • Lead or facilitate Quality Grade Risk Assessment meetings where required.

Required Experience

  • Strong knowledge of Quality Assurance principles, including ISO 9001:2015 and contractor-specific quality requirements (e.g. SLM 4.06.02).
  • Sound understanding of mechanical, electrical, or civil engineering disciplines within a project environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Qualified Internal Auditor.
  • ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor certification.
  • Degree (minimum 2:2) in a relevant discipline or equivalent professional qualification (e.g. CQI Level 5 Diploma).
  • Membership of a recognised professional body such as CQI (or actively working towards it).
  • Demonstrable, extensive experience in a Quality Assurance role.
