For further information please refer to the job description and personal specification To provide a professional and courteous service to all service users, ensuring a high quality diagnostic service. To respond to complex requests from service users. To be the single point of contact for users requesting clinical genomics from histopathology samples. To be aware of complex diagnostic tests in clinical genomics, advise users on availability of diagnostic tests and provide feedback to consultant pathologists and clinical teams. Understanding of diagnostic tests available on NHS national genomics testing directory and can provide guidance to users to availability of tests within RMH clinical genomics department The post holder will ensure that all required information and materials are available to facilitate the timely transfer of samples, enabling Clinical Genomics to proceed with diagnostic testing without delay. They will also contribute to the development and implementation of departmental sample receipt pathways, including the booking-in of routine and historical cases, sample return procedures, and the establishment and ongoing maintenance of any new systems or processes introduced. The post holder will be proficient in microtomy, or will receive appropriate training if required, and will undertake technical tasks as directed by the CPGC Liaison Section Lead, Histopathology Laboratory Manager, and senior staff, in line with departmental standard operating procedures (SOPs).
