Clinical: Provide high quality elective and emergency surgical care to Newcastle and regional population. Further develop sub-speciality services as part of a multidisciplinary team Administrative: Provide timely communication to the wider team in hospital and the community Contribute to the efficient running of elective and acute care. Engage with national audits (NELA, NBOCAP, IMPACT etc) Research: Engage and collaborate with ongoing local and NIHR Portfolio research activities within the department. Provide clinical academic leadership in supporting medical students and doctors in training deliver research projects Teaching: The department leads many educational programs and teaching is an important part of this role. Opportunities to lead/further develop courses are numerous via the Newcastle Surgical Training Centre (NSTC)
