Your new company
You will be joining an established and well-respected Tier 1 contractor delivering a flagship flood alleviation project in the Nottingham area. This multi-accredited and high-profile contractor has a strong pipeline of work and offers excellent opportunities for career progression and professional development. As part of their continued growth, they are actively seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join their team.


Your new role
As Quantity Surveyor, you'll play a key role in the commercial management of a major civil engineering project, ensuring work is delivered efficiently, safely and within budget. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing plans, contracts, budgets, bills of quantities and associated documentation
  • Conducting on‑site measurements and reviews of drawings
  • Identifying and managing potential risks with effective control measures
  • Carrying out on‑going cost analysis for maintenance and repair works
  • Producing feasibility studies and preparing accurate estimates
  • Analysing subcontractor quotations and preparing variation accounts
  • Agreeing interim valuations and final accounts
  • Preparing and issuing certificates for subcontractor payments
  • Supporting dispute resolution with robust commercial evidence
  • Ensuring compliance with all quality, safety and environmental procedures.


What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful, you will bring:

  • Proven experience working on heavy civil engineering projects
  • Strong working knowledge of NEC form of contract
  • Innovative problem‑solving skills and the ability to negotiate at all levels
  • Strong numeracy, commercial awareness and IT capability
  • Full UK driving licence.
