Summary
Are you a SEND experienced Teaching Assistant looking for a new role from February 2026?
Horizon Teachers are currently working with aa primary school for SEND learners in Wandsworth. The school is for primary-aged children with Autism, ADHD and speech/language/communication needs, and they are looking for experienced support staff to join their team.
The school is very well regarded among the local community and has achieved an 'Outstanding' Ofsted rating in their most recent inspection. They are part of a highly regarded trust of SEN schools across London.
Key Responsibilities:
· Providing one-on-one and small group support to students with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
· Assisting teachers in implementing specialized teaching strategies and interventions.
· Promoting social and emotional development, helping students build vital life skills.
· Fostering a calm and structured environment to support sensory needs.
· Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to provide the best care and education for students.
Qualifications:
· A genuine passion for supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
· Strong communication and empathy skills.
· An understanding of the challenges students with ASD may face and the ability to adapt teaching methods accordingly.
· Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs.
· A relevant qualification in education, psychology, or a related field (desirable).
