The Opportunity:
Long Term Futures are seeking a confident and academically strong Teaching Assistant to join a well-regarded secondary school in the Lambeth area.

This role is ideal for a candidate with a strong academic background in English who is passionate about supporting pupils across KS3 and KS4 to improve literacy, analytical writing, and communication skills. You will be working in both small-group interventions, and 1:1 academic mentoring.

This is an excellent opportunity for an English graduate or aspiring teacher looking to gain valuable secondary school experience.

Your Key Responsibilities:
- Provide in-class support within English lessons across KS3 & KS4
- Deliver small-group literacy and GCSE intervention sessions
- Support pupils with essay writing, comprehension, and exam preparation
- Assist teachers in adapting materials to meet individual learning needs
- Promote positive behaviour and academic engagement
- Support students in developing confidence in written and spoken communication
- Build strong, professional relationships with pupils and staff


Requirements:
- Strong academic background in English (degree level preferred)
- Experience working with young people in a school, tutoring, or mentoring setting
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Confident supporting behaviour management in a secondary classroom
- Patient, proactive, and academically driven approach
- Understanding of safeguarding and secondary school expectations
