We're looking for a Casual Maintenance & Estate Assistant to join our team at Field Studies Council Millport.

  • Enjoy having the flexibility to work casually, shifts will be offered as and when they arise.
  • You can choose to accept or decline shifts based on your availability.
  • You’ll be paid circa £12.21 per hour worked.

What you’ll be doing

As a Casual Maintenance & Estate Assistant your duties will be varied to include:

  • Assisting with repairs, maintenance, and improvements to the centre’s buildings and grounds
  • Helping maintain and service plant, equipment, and machinery
  • Carrying out Health & Safety monitoring and record keeping
  • Supporting external contractors when needed
  • Contributing to a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for staff and visitors

Our centre is always busy, so we need casual team members who are happy to help wherever required

  • Previous experience in general maintenance, grounds work, or trade skills such as carpentry, plumbing, or electrics
  • Ability to use tools and equipment safely
  • Good attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying and solving problems
  • Flexibility, a positive attitude, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Awareness of Health & Safety requirements in a work environment
  • A committed and proactive approach to personal development; motivated to learn new skills and overcome new challenges
