Hays Education are working with a supportive primary school in the Dudley area who are seeking an experienced Year 6 Teacher to join them from March. This is a full‑time position running until the end of the academic year.
Your New Role:
In this role, you will take full responsibility for the Year 6 class during a crucial period in the academic calendar. Your duties will include:
- Planning, preparing and delivering high quality lessons in line with the Year 6 curriculum
- Focusing heavily on SATS preparation, including stretch activities, intervention groups, and mock exams
- Supporting pupils' progress and confidence as they work towards their assessments
- Differentiating effectively, as the class includes a small number of SEN pupils.
- Working closely with support staff to meet all pupils' needs
- Attending meetings, including team meetings, reviews and parents' evenings
- Creating a positive, motivating learning environment that encourages high achievement
What You'll Need to Succeed:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Previous experience teaching in Year 6 and strong understanding of KS2 SATs
- Proven ability to raise attainment and deliver targeted interventions
- Strong behaviour management and classroom organisation
- Confidence in supporting SEN pupils at differing stages of development
- Commitment, resilience and a passion for helping pupils succeed in their final year of primary school
