We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Building Surveyor to join the Buildings team at Chatsworth. This is a varied role ideally suited to a building surveyor or building contracts manager with an interest in the repair and restoration of traditional buildings. Based at Park Rangers in Edensor, you will assist in the management of a variety of planned and capital building projects within the Derbyshire Estate. As a Building Surveyor, you will:Prepare specifications of work for tendering and contract purposes, then appoint and manage contractors as required.Manage building projects ensuring works are completed in a timely manner, to the required standard, within budget and in line with health & safety legislation.Assist in the day-to-day management of reactive repairs, liaising with tenants and contractors.Review risk assessments and method statements for all building works.Support the Head of Buildings in the preparation of annual budgets and monthly reconciliation of year to date and forecast expenditure.Have a wide understanding of the construction industry including knowledge of building contracts, materials, trades, construction methods and legal requirements, including CDM Regulations, building heritage and safety in buildings.Form appropriate working relationships with contractors, consultants, tenants, and colleagues.Work as part of our on-call out of hours rota.
