Are you a finance professional who's ready to make a difference?

We're looking for someone like you to join our vibrant, supportive Finance team as a Senior Assistant Accountant - Statutory Reporting and Compliance; this is a pivotal role in ensuring Platform Housing Group remains fully compliant.

As our Senior Assistant Accountant - Statutory Reporting & Compliance, working closely with the Finance Manager to deliver a high-quality statutory accounts and compliance reporting service, you'll be responsible for:

-Assisting in the delivery of robust, accurate, relevant and timely financial reporting and compliance services.

-Ensuring that financial transactions are accurately recorded and reported.

-Calculating, collating and reviewing information required for regulatory and statutory returns in a timely manner to ensure the accuracy of the submissions.

-Preparing of statutory financial statements and associated working papers for all members of the group including consolidation.

-Supporting external audit process, providing documentation and explanations.

-Assisting in preparation of VAT, Corporation tax and other tax returns and associated working papers for all members of the group.

-Establishing collaborative relationships with a range of stakeholders, showing pragmatism and support for the group's objectives.

What you'll need to have?

-Be a Qualified Accountant, experienced within a large, complex organisation with significant budgets

-Good knowledge and understanding of Accounting Standards and Tax legislation

-Proven experience of completing primary accounting statements

-Experience liaising with internal and external auditors

-Extensive knowledge in preparation and completion of VAT Returns

-Strong negotiation and influencing skills, able to build and maintain effective working relationships with finance and non-finance colleagues to achieve results

-Experience of providing accounting information to challenging deadlines

-Great ability to interpret information, carry out research, analyse complex data, appraise performance; understand and manage risk & compliance matters

-Passionate about providing an excellent customer driven service

-Experience of using digital technology within a finance environment

-A proven track record of delivering results in a fast-paced and changing environment

Whilst this role is mainly a home-based, regular travel to Group offices at Birmingham Business Park Solihull and Central Park, Worcester will be required.
