Become a chef at the Larder Cafe at The Highland Soap Company's visitor centre, Fort William making delicious brunches, lunches and cakes. We will consider hiring either a Commis/Chef de Partie /Sous chef. Opening hours for the cafe Mon - Sat 9am-5pm, Sunday's 10-5pm. 24-38 hours per week, plus holiday cover as required.

The Larder Cafe is looking for a chef to join our excellent kitchen team with strong front-of-house. We are a friendly, locally-owned business serving delicious food to happy customers.

We are coming into our summer season and will consider hiring either a Commis/Chef de Partie /Sous chef.

Sociable hours with no split-shifts: Cafe opening hours are Monday to Saturday 9am-5pm and 10am-4:30 pm on a Sunday, with a few early evenings for events. 24-38 hours per week plus holiday cover as required.

Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook meals according to recipes and portion sizes
- Assist with meal preparation
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operation of the restaurant
- Follow proper food handling and storage procedures
- Maintain a clean and organised work area

Experience:
- Previous experience in a busy kitchen is preferred
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary terminology
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment and utensils
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes accurately

Skills:
- Understanding of food safety regulations and best practices
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Job Type: full-time and part time

Salary: competitve depending on experience but £14-£15.60 per hour with decent tips.

Expected hours: 24 to 38 hours per week
