M&E Quantity Surveyor | Special Works

Location: City of London

Project Value Range: £50k - £2M (Focus on Detail, not Scale)

We aren't looking for someone who manages "mega-projects" from a distance. We need a specialist M&E Quantity Surveyor for our Special Works division-where the projects are smaller, the pace is faster, and the margin for error is zero.

This is about precision over volume. If you prefer the technical challenge of a complex £500k high-end refit over a sprawling £50M shell-and-core, we want to talk.

The Role: Tactical & Technical

In Special Works, you are the pilot, not just a passenger. You will handle the full lifecycle of M&E packages with a heavy emphasis on 2-stage procurement.

  • Hands-on Procurement: Full ownership of sub-contractor selection and high-stakes negotiation for specialist M&E packages.

  • The Detail: Drafting precise Bills of Quantities (BoQ) and defining technical scopes where every nut and bolt matters.

  • Tendering: Managing rapid-turnaround tenders without losing your eye for detail.

  • Commercial Control: Managing CVRs, variations, and final accounts for multiple fast-track projects simultaneously.

The Ideal Profile
  • M&E Only: You are a dedicated M&E specialist.

  • Small-Scale Expert: You thrive on "Special Works"-complex, high-quality projects rather than massive, slow-moving developments.

  • 2-Stage Fluency: You understand how to add value during the pre-construction phase to de-risk the delivery.

  • The "Do-er": You are just as comfortable building a BoQ as you are negotiating a final account.
