Rural Residential Living for Adults with Learning disabilities. Providing 24 hour Residential Care 52 weeks of the year to adults with learning disabilities from the age of 18 years

We are seeking, on behalf of our client, a Registered Manager for one of our residential homes.

This service comprises of a small working farm with residential homes on site in a beautiful rural setting. The successful applicant would be part of a senior manager team with the responsible person on site promoting a supportive environment.

The Registered Manager will oversee the daily operations of a home, ensuring compliance with CIW regulations and maintaining a person-centered approach to support. This role is key to fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and warmth, while also supporting staff development and leading quality improvements.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in a senior role, with a focus on providing high-quality support. This role requires exceptional leadership skills, the ability to manage a team, and a commitment to ensuring the well-being of all residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing confident, compassionate leadership across the home.
  • Managing care & support delivery, staffing and resources effectively.
  • Supporting staff through training, supervisions and clear direction.
  • Driving quality assurance audits and continuous improvement.
  • Building strong relationships with professionals and families to coordinate comprehensive support for residents.
  • Manage daily operations of the home, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and best practices.
  • Develop and implement individualised care plans for residents, tailored to their specific needs and preferences.
  • Supervise and support staff members, fostering a positive work environment that encourages professional development.
  • Conduct regular assessments of resident's health and well-being, adjusting care plans as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports related to staffing, operational procedures & ensuring the proper maintenance of all resident records, in accordance with policy and relevant legislation
  • Ensure that all health and safety regulations are adhered to within the home
  • Follow company policies and procedures to ensure effective and efficient operation of the Home
  • Investigate complaints and take appropriate action.
  • Ensure eligibility to practice by maintaining registration with SCW. Ensuring all staff maintain their registration..
  • Oversee home budgets and operational performance.
  • Reporting to the Head of Care and/ or the Responsible Individual.

Requirements:

  • To have QCF Level 4 or Level 5 in Leadership for Health and Social Care Services (Adults Residential Management) - Essential
  • Registered with Social Care Wales (SCW) - Essential.
  • In-depth knowledge of Regulation and Inspection of Social Care (Wales) Act 2016(RISCA) and CIW inspection processes.
  • At least 3 years' experience in a management role within a care home setting.
  • Ability to demonstrate a sound understanding of the needs of people with learning disabilities.
  • Ensuring safety and wellbeing, by implementing safeguarding procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals
  • Ability to develop and implement comprehensive care plans tailored to individual needs.
  • Strong leadership & organisational skills.
  • Familiarity with medication administration protocols and best practices
  • Positive, flexible attitude and a desire to make a difference
  • Effective communication, verbal, numeracy skills & IT skills
