What skills and experience we're looking for

We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated, committed and enthusiastic teacher to join us as Achievement Leader for the Year 7 and 8 phase at King Edward VI School. The successful candidate will lead a team of experienced tutors and will take responsibility for the academic progress, behaviour and welfare of students in the year group as they progress through the school, overseeing the transition from Year 6 and taking a cohort from Year 7 through to Year 8. The role provides significant opportunities to develop and share excellent practice in supporting staff and students and is well suited to those with aspirations towards senior leadership.

We are looking for an inspirational teacher and leader with a pro-active approach and excellent communication skills. As Achievement Leader, you will have a strategic role working alongside middle and senior leaders to maximise student achievement. The school welcomes applications from candidates with proven departmental or pastoral leadership skills in their current role. External candidates would need to offer Chemistry as a subject specialism.

We have 250 students in Years 7-11 and a large, successful sixth form.
