Your new company
Hays have partnered with a leading investment bank to appoint an experienced Project Manager to support across a variety of networking and infrastructure projects. If you're a strong PM, with a background in technical project delivery (networks, infrastructure etc.) and demonstrated experience within financial services, then we want to hear from you.

Length: 6 months + likely extension
Location: London
Hybrid Working: Yes (2 days in office per week)
Rate: Up to £750/day via Umbrella

Your new role
As the Networks Project Manager, you will bring extensive experience with Cisco products and networking concepts with a background in the financial services industry. As a hands-on operator and a self-starter, you'll take full ownership of a variety of technical projects and drive delivery through to completion. Your core duties/experience will include:

  • Lead end‑to‑end IT infrastructure and network projects, driving delivery in Cisco‑based environments and ensuring scope, timelines, risks and milestones are met.
  • Act as the accountable project owner, proactively identifying and resolving issues, managing governance, reporting, budgets and stakeholder communication up to C‑Suite level.
  • Coordinate cross‑functional teams and vendors, working closely with network, security, PMO and business stakeholders across regions to ensure smooth execution and change adoption.
  • Manage risks, dependencies and resources in a matrix environment, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring projects land successfully across impacted business areas.

    What you'll need to succeed

You will be a seasoned IT delivery professional with 10+ years leading complex projects/programmes, backed by formal project management qualifications (APM, PMP) and strong knowledge of networks, security, compliance and IT functions within financial services. You will also be:

  • Technically confident, ideally with prior hands‑on engineering experience, and well‑versed in end‑to‑end delivery across both waterfall and agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
  • Exceptional communicator and stakeholder manager, able to simplify complex technical topics, influence diverse audiences and lead change effectively across business teams.
  • Highly organised, detail‑driven leader with strong decision‑making, problem‑solving skills, resilience under pressure and experience managing teams in line or matrix structures.
