Argoed High School is a highly successful, 11-16 comprehensive with an excellent reputation in the community. This is an exciting time to join Argoed High School, with our new state of the art building.
We are looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant for 27.5 hours per week (Mon – Fri) to support pupils with additional learning needs. The pupils may have emotional and behaviour needs and social communication needs. The successful applicants will be expected to manage and support the pupils’ learning.
Essential Criteria
• Enthusiastic, committed and flexible.
• Experience of managing and supporting individual pupils and small groups of pupils.
• Experience of working with pupils with a range of Additional Learning Needs.
• An understanding of social communication needs
• Understanding of confidentiality.
• Well organised, with good time management.
• Outstanding communication skills.
• Able to liaise with teaching staff.
• Able to work independently and also within a team.
We are committed to safeguarding the welfare of children and expect all staff to share this commitment. An enhanced DBS check will be required for the successful applicant.
References from past employers and registration to the EWC (Education Workforce Council) will also be required.
