A full time Band 5 vacancy has arisen in the Community Paediatric Therapy Team in Salford. The hours can be worked flexibly across Monday to Friday, this is to meet both candidate and service needs.
The team works across a variety of locations and paediatric specialities, including neurological, developmental and neurodiverse caseloads.
The Band 5 post will join another Band 5 OT in the team to work through the different specialties to develop a sound knowledge of all aspects of Community Paediatric OT, including, postural management, equipment assessments and provision, functional treatment blocks, Co-ordination and perceptual assessments and sensory processing.

Our teams purpose is to empower children and young people to optimise their function and participation through collaborative, child centred therapy.
How you will do this:
• Work closely with OT’s, physio’s and assistants in your specific team
• Provide training, support and resources to empower families and professionals to enable the functional development
• Assessment of functional Abilities
• Provision of advice and signposting
• Involve the child or young person in setting their own goals
• Assessment and provision of equipment to maximise independence, participation & support their care
• Working closely with Physios, where appropriate, to jointly manage children on your shared caseload, including postural management
• Provide a range of treatment dependent on need
• See children at home, school, nursery and clinic
• Participate in individual and joint clinics
• provide blocks of treatment
• Develop links with other health, education and social care professionals, along with building rapport with the children and families
• Work closely with Community OT to support home adaptations
• Engage in EHCP process
• Support development of assistants and students
• Participate in audit, service development & clinical governance
Due to the nature of the work, you will need to be able to independently travel across the city to undertake visits with equipment and resources.
