Job Title: Vehicle Management & Fleet Management Supervisor
Location: RAF Fairford
Work Hours Per Week: 39
This position manages the Vehicle Management & Analysis, Hazmat & Safety, and Material Control elements within the Logistics Readiness Flight. As a first-level supervisor, you will plan, organize, direct, and control the work of assigned employees, and administer personnel management responsibilities.
A key function is the scheduling, initiation, and control of vehicle maintenance work orders, establishing priorities, and coordinating requirements with both internal vehicle maintenance and external units. You will analyze and maintain related vehicle maintenance records and administer all automated vehicle maintenance production programs and systems to optimize vehicle support and economy.
This includes analyzing monthly management information system data and reviewing the effectiveness of motor transportation policies and procedures. Finally, you will provide analytical support for vehicle maintenance processes and assist the wing fleet manager in managing and accounting for vehicle control/inventory programs.

Key Skills required for this role
1. Working knowledge of governing vehicle maintenance/management regulations, policies, procedures, techniques, and methods.
2. Knowledge of and experience utilizing production control functions, operations, program requirements, and work methods.
3. Skill in data entry and processing of transactions in the Defense Property Accountability System. (DPAS)
4. Skill in maintaining official files, records, and listings.
5. Ability to apply basic analytical methods to determine trends and make recommendations to correct unfavorable developments.
6. Ability to apply an extensive body of fleet management regulations, policies, procedures, techniques and methods.
Conditions of employment
1. You will be required to handle and safeguard sensitive information in accordance with applicable US and UK laws, rules and regulations.
2. You may be required to travel by military and/or civilian aircraft, and you may also be required to travel to the US or other country, in the performance of official duties or attend necessary training.
3. This position may also be coded as mission essential.
4. You will be required to complete a 6-month probationary period.
5. Hours of work: 39 hours weekly. Fixed schedule: Mon-Thu 0700-1530/ Fri 0700-14.30. Start & end times may be modified due to mission needs and in accordance with organization’s flexible working policies.
6. Overtime may be required, and you may be assigned other duties not included in this position description, but that are appropriate to the grade and skill set of the incumbent.
7. You must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
8. You must obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance.
9. Position requires a high degree of tact and interpersonal communication skill.
10. The work may require the employee to drive a motor vehicle. A valid driver’s license (Category B) is required for the position. LGV/bus driver license is desirable.
11. May be required to perform extended hours, on-call duties, shift work, working weekends, and overtime depending on mission requirements and management discretion.
12. The Local National Direct Hire (LNDH) Program does not participate in regular drug testing, however positions covered by this document may be subject to drug testing upon reasonable suspicion of substance abuse, and safety mishap or accident testing.
