The Role
The Domestic Abuse Education Lead will oversee the smooth delivery of Operation Encompass across Birmingham. Working closely with police colleagues and business support teams, the postholder will ensure timely alerts to education settings and provide guidance to school staff supporting children affected by domestic abuse. This role is essential in ensuring schools are equipped to respond sensitively and effectively to safeguarding concerns.

Key Responsibilities
Coordinate the daily delivery of Operation Encompass across Birmingham.

Liaise with police and business support to ensure timely and accurate alerts to education settings.

Provide advice and support to education colleagues responding to domestic abuse notifications.

Promote best practice in safeguarding and trauma‑informed responses within schools.

Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with relevant processes and protocols.

Build strong working relationships with internal and external partners.

Candidate Requirements
Experience working within education, social care, safeguarding, or a related field.

Strong understanding of domestic abuse and its impact on children and families.

Ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with professionals at all levels.

Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage time‑critical processes.

Confident in handling confidential information in line with safeguarding protocols.

Ability to work collaboratively with multi‑agency partners.
