You’ll be joining our Highways maintenance team, as the UK’s number one highway maintenance contractor, our teams use the latest innovations to create effective solutions. We offer a range of services including planned and reactive maintenance and highway improvement schemes.

What will you be doing?
- Support the preparation of accurate cost estimates and project budgets from early feasibility to final account, helping maintain strong financial control and value for money.
- Assist with contract documentation, tendering activities, negotiating terms, and the professional administration of contracts alongside senior team members.
- Help manage subcontract payments by checking, processing, and assessing applications in line with contractual requirements.
- Contribute to preparing and submitting Client claims through the CPA, ensuring clear evidence and cost backup for transparent, accurate reporting.
- Support identification of project risks and contribute to procurement activities, including preparing tender documents and evaluating supplier proposals, helping keep projects on budget, on programme, and compliant.
- Work closely with experienced colleagues, gaining hands‑on learning while contributing your own insight to the team.
- As your experience grows, help support junior team members and contribute to a collaborative, high‑performing project environment.
What you’ll bring
- Hold an HND, HNC, or degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field, with professional accreditation such as MRICS or CICES being advantageous.
- Bring experience from civil engineering, rail, aviation, defence, or other safety‑critical environments, enabling confident contribution within complex project settings.
- Confidently use cost management systems (ideally Causeway) and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, with strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills to support commercial activities and build effective relationships.
