Summary
We are looking for hardworking, enthusiastic individuals to join our dedicated team of front of house staff working in Spooner’s.
We can offer you:
• National Living / Minimum wage for age
• Seasonal contract from March 2026 to 1st November 2026, with the possibility of extension to January 2027
• Flexible shifts to suit candidate: minimum 2 days per week, maximum 5 days per week, weekdays and weekends; or weekends and school holidays

Key duties will include serving customers at the café counter, at table, from an outdoor popup stall, or at the bar; handling money, clearing tables and assisting with kitchen duties. Successful candidates may also be asked to work at the Tan y Bwlch Station Tea Room on occasion, providing variety and the opportunity to develop your skills. Experience of working in a café or restaurant would be an advantage but not essential as full training will be provided.
The successful candidate will thrive working in a fast-paced, busy environment. The ideal candidate would be flexible and able to work shifts over days, evenings and weekends. Hours of work will vary and hours may be available to suit candidate, with up to 40 hours per week available during the busy summer season.

• The ability to work cleanly and tidily
• A basic knowledge and understanding of food and kitchen hygiene is desirable
This is a predominantly Welsh speaking area and the Company operates a bilingual policy. The ability to converse in Welsh is therefore desirable for these posts, but not essential. Knowledge of locations on the Railways and their use by visitors and knowledge of Porthmadog and the surrounding area would be an advantage.
