Crynodeb

Responsible for delivering high-quality cleaning services across communal areas within designated homes throughout the City of Cardiff. These homes include Community Living schemes, homeless hostels, high-rise buildings, and low-rise blocks of flats. To ensures all communal spaces remain consistently well-maintained, contributing toward a safe and clean environment for residents. For residents to remain at the centre of this role, and have a genuine desire to make a positive difference by maintaining high standards of cleanliness and providing excellent customer service.

Duties and Responsibilities and Job Specific Requirements

1. To deliver a high-quality cleaning service across multiple Council homes in Cardiff, ensuring safe and clean environments for residents, staff, and visitors. To work flexibly across designated locations and contribute to the overall performance and reputation of the Estate Services team.

2. To always provide excellent customer service, ensuring that our residents are at the centre of everything, and to be motivated to make a positive difference in their living environment.
3. To take full responsibility for assigned cleaning tasks across communal areas, foyers, lifts, stairwells, and external spaces, maintaining cleanliness to agreed standards and service level agreements.
4. To adhere to established cleaning protocols and schedules, including the use of appropriate chemicals and equipment.
5. To support Council policies on Health and Safety and safe working practices, wearing appropriate PPE and following site-specific safety instructions.
6. To conduct visual risk assessments of work areas and tasks, reporting hazards and taking steps to mitigate risks to staff and the public.
7. To work safely and responsibly when using chemicals and be aware of and follow COSHH Regulations.
8. To work across multiple homes in Cardiff, including high-rise blocks, hostels, and community buildings, as directed by the scheduling team. To collaborate with other cleaning staff and caretakers to ensure consistent standards across all locations.
9. To undertake all training as necessary.
10. To act in a courteous and professional manner to all those with whom you have contact.
11. To participate in site inspections and audits to maintain high standards and identify areas for improvement.
12. To communicate operational issues to the Responsive Supervisor and/or Scheduler
13. To update the records of work completed to support complaint resolution and performance reviews.

15. To take reasonable care for the health and safety of yourself and other persons who may be affected by your acts or omissions and to comply with all health and safety legislation as appropriate.

16. To, as a statutory duty, adhere to the Council’s Corporate Safeguarding Policy and associated policies and procedures and to report concerns regarding the safety and wellbeing of children or adults at risk. In order to support you in this, you are required to access safeguarding training at the level which is relevant to this post.
17. As a term of your employment, you may be required to undertake such other duties and/or times of work as may reasonably be required of you, commensurate with your grade or general level of responsibility within the organisation.

18. Although you will be provided with a base, you will be required to work from various locations in accordance with the needs of the role.
