Job Title: Children’s Residential Support Worker – Days, Waking Nights & Sleep-Ins
Location: Stoke on Trent
Salary: £12.55-£14.00 ph
Contract: Full-time / Part-time / Permanent / Agency hours
Shifts: Day shifts, Waking Nights, and Day Sleep-In shifts
About the Role
We are looking for compassionate, resilient, and dedicated Children’s Residential Support Workers to join our team. You will be supporting children and young people who may display challenging behaviours and have experienced trauma, adverse childhood experiences, or complex emotional needs.
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of young people by providing stability, guidance, and a safe, nurturing home environment.
We have opportunities available for:
• Day Shift Workers
• Waking Night Workers
• Sleep-In Support Workers
Key Responsibilities
• Provide high-quality care and support to children and young people in a residential setting
• Promote positive behaviour and support young people to regulate emotions safely
• Build trusted, professional relationships with children
• Support daily routines including education, appointments, and activities
• Maintain accurate records and complete reports in line with company policies
• Safeguard and promote the welfare of children at all times
• For waking nights: ensure the safety, security, and wellbeing of young people throughout the night
• For sleep-ins: provide overnight presence and respond appropriately if required
About You
• Experience working with children and young people
• Experience supporting individuals with challenging behaviour
• Calm, patient, and emotionally resilient
• Able to work shifts including evenings, weekends, waking nights, and sleep-ins
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Full UK driving licence (desirable)
• Relevant qualification (e.g., Level 3 in Children & Young People) desirable or willingness to work towards
