Description
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Deputy Area Planning Manager (Gr 9) to join our team and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of urban development and planning in our region. In this position, you will assist in overseeing the planning department's strategic initiatives, ensuring adherence to local regulations and stakeholder engagement. As a Deputy Area Planning Manager, you will work collaboratively with a diverse group of professionals, including city planners, architects, and community stakeholders, to develop comprehensive plans that address the needs of our growing population while promoting sustainable development practices. Your expertise will be instrumental in analyzing zoning regulations, preparing reports, and presenting findings to senior management and community boards. Responsibilities
Assist in the development and implementation of area plans and policies.
Conduct research and analysis on land use, demographics, and environmental impacts.
Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for stakeholders and decision-makers.
Collaborate with various departments and external agencies on planning initiatives.
Engage with community members and organizations to gather input and feedback on planning projects.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented plans and recommend modifications as needed.
Supervise and provide guidance to junior planning staff and interns.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Geography, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in urban planning or a related field.
Strong knowledge of planning principles, practices, and relevant laws and regulations.
Excellent analytical, research, and organizational skills.
Proficient in GIS and other planning software applications.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Proven experience in project management and team collaboration.
Hours Per Week: 36.00
Start Time: 09:00
End Time: 17:00
Pay Per Hour: £37.06
