General Teaching Assistant – Preston
Humly is recruiting a General Teaching Assistant to join a primary school on a temporary basis.
This is a part-time role starting 23 February 2026 and continuing until 17 July 2026. It is ideal for a teaching assistant who is confident providing general classroom support and contributing positively to daily school life.
What You’ll Be Doing
Support classroom teachers with day-to-day teaching activities
Assist pupils individually or in small groups with learning tasks
Help maintain a positive and safe learning environment
Prepare resources and support lesson delivery
Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teachers
What You’ll Bring
Experience working in a primary school or similar educational setting
Strong communication and organisational skills
Ability to support pupils with varying needs and abilities
Enthusiasm for contributing to school life and pupil development
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
Pay
£13.70 per hour
Important Information
Working pattern: Thursdays and Fridays, 8:45am – 3:15pm (30-minute lunch break)
Start date: 23 February 2026
Primary school-based position
Enhanced DBS required (Humly can support with an Enhanced DBS at a cost to the educator)
Safeguarding & Rehabilitation of Offenders Act: This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. Applicants will be required to declare relevant convictions in line with the Act.
