Whole School Literacy Coordinator – for September 2026
Salary: Leadership Scale L1-L5 (£61,554-£66,935)
Closing date: Midnight Wednesday 24th February 2026
Interview date: Wednesday 4th March
We are looking for a Whole School Literacy Coordinator to join our English team in a school that offers excellent opportunities for professional development. Ada Lovelace is one of four Twyford Trust schools, a successful multi-academy Trust based in the Borough of Ealing. We offer comprehensive CPD, exciting development opportunities and strong promotion prospects for our teachers.
The successful candidate will be joining an innovative and ambitious department that seeks to deliver an outstanding, three-tiered curriculum to students of all National Curriculum levels. Students here are driven to succeed and their progress is monitored through half-termly assessments. We work collaboratively to create a curriculum that inspires, challenges and nurtures students, using ambitious outcomes that lead to thorough subject knowledge and sustained progress.
As this is a Whole School Literacy Coordinator role, it is particularly suited to an individual ready to take the next step in their leadership career. We are looking for someone who is excited by the opportunity to shape and lead whole-school literacy strategy, drive change, and champion excellent practice across all departments. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in strengthening literacy provision, supporting colleagues, and contributing to a shared vision for continuous improvement across the school.
This role will suit someone who is motivated by working collaboratively with colleagues, inspiring learners, and contributing to shared goals and continued excellence across the department and the wider school.
At Ada Lovelace High School, we place a strong emphasis on valuing staff time and supporting professional growth. Our approach is designed to help teachers thrive both inside and outside the classroom. Students finish early on Fridays, giving staff dedicated time for high-quality CPD every Friday afternoon. This ensures that professional development is embedded into the working week. Our commitment to staff wellbeing goes hand in hand with our ambition for excellence, with a centralised academic curriculum alongside shared pastoral systems and resources.
We provide opportunities for colleagues to deepen subject knowledge, engage in research, and undertake further qualifications such as National Professional Qualifications (NPQs). Our CPD programme is comprehensive and forward-thinking, ensuring staff remain up to date with the latest developments in pedagogy and curriculum design.
At Ada Lovelace, we believe the biggest impact happens when we work together as a team. Team culture is central to everything we do, and we regularly remind ourselves that “we are all developing teachers.” Collaboration, consistency, and shared learning are at the heart of our approach.
We offer:
• Exceptional professional development and career progression
• Positive working relationships at all levels
• A supportive Leadership Team
• Opportunities to gain experience within four different Trust schools with a shared commitment to collaboration
The successful candidate will have:
• A good degree and Qualified Teacher Status
• Strong subject knowledge and understanding of the National Curriculum
• The ability to inspire and motivate students across the ability range
• A commitment to high standards of teaching, learning, and assessment
• A reflective approach and drive for continuous improvement
• A commitment to the ethos and values of the school
