I am looking to welcome a third PA into my son’s small, dedicated care team, based in our family home in Crawley. This is a rewarding and meaningful role supporting my 32-year-old son, who has complex care needs arising from a rare genetic disorder and associated conditions. You will always work as part of a 2:1 care team, ensuring safe, consistent and well-supported care.
My son has a very calm, gentle and sedentary nature. He brings a reassuring and welcoming presence to those around him and does not display any challenging or aggressive behaviours. This role would suit someone who is patient, compassionate and comfortable providing attentive, hands-on care in a relaxed home environment.
As his PA, you will support him with all aspects of personal care and daily living. This includes assisting with transfers from bed to wheelchair using a hoist, monitoring and responding to seizures, and supporting a range of daily therapies such as oxygen, oral suctioning, cough assist and nebulisers. You will also be responsible for administering daily medications and preparing and delivering pre-prepared enteral feeds, as my son is exclusively PEG fed.
An important part of the role involves monitoring and maintaining skin integrity, managing medication stock levels and alerting me when supplies are running low. Alongside care duties, you will help with light cleaning tasks to ensure my son’s environment remains clean, safe and hygienic. There may also be occasions where you accompany my son and me to hospital appointments, offering support and reassurance throughout.
This position offers the opportunity to become part of a close-knit, supportive care team and to make a genuine difference in the life of a young man who responds warmly to consistent, thoughtful care. If you are reliable, caring and looking for a role where your work truly matters, I would be very pleased to hear from you.
