What will you be doing as a Health and Safety Coordinator?
Working alongside the Maintenance Manager as part of the senior team, you will be ensuring a safe working environment is maintained onsite. Duties will include:
- Working with the Operations Team to continuously improve the H&S on the shopfloor including conducting onsite safety inspections and audits
- Reviewing fire risk assessments and ensuring any issues are resolved
- Maintaining staff and environment safety by monitoring and testing of Safe Operating Procedures and Environmental Operational Control procedures
- Coordinating regular compliance checks with regards to LOLER, COSHH, legionella and fire safety from contractors.
- Reporting on site Health and Safety including accidents, incidents, near misses and risk assessments
- Liaising with an external H+S consultants
We would LOVE to hear from you if you have the following skills and experience:
- Experience working in a similar senior Health and Safety Co-ordinator or Health and Safety Manager role within an engineering or possibly manufacturing environment
- NEBOSH and IOSH certification
- Good working knowledge of ISO9001 and ISO45001
- Ability to identify risks or potential areas for improvements
- Able to work in a fast paced environment
- Confident and "thick skinned" with the ability to work with managers and unions
- Confident IT skills with Word and Excel
- Experience using Powerpoint and ERP systems would be beneficial
