Looking for a hands-on Drone & Photography Contractor to support the delivery of the Nature Restoration Fund (NRF)- an innovative UK Government initiative transforming how environmental obligations are met in development projects. You'll play a key role in documenting Environmental Delivery Plan (EDP) areas across England, helping build a high-quality visual library to guide strategic, landscape-scale conservation. The NRF modernises how developers contribute to environmental recovery. Instead of implementing bespoke mitigation schemes, developers make a payment which is channelled into strategic conservation work delivered by Natural England. Your visual documentation will help demonstrate the condition, context and needs of these sites, directly influencing future restoration decisions.Main Duties: -

  • Planning & Preparation
  • Review and prioritise assigned Environmental Delivery Plan (EDP) sites.
  • Confirm land access and permissions.
  • Ensure all drone licences/certifications are up-to-date.
  • Plan travel routes and schedule site visits around weather windows.
  • Prep camera/drone kit, batteries, storage and PPE.
  • On-Site Photography & Drone Capture
  • Capture high-quality ground photography of each EDP area.
  • Conduct safe, compliant drone flights to capture aerial stills and video.
  • Ensure coverage of:
  • Site boundaries & layout
  • Key assets/infrastructure
  • Environmental context & surrounding features
  • Areas of interest, risk or change
  • Log flights, issues and observations.
  • Data Management
  • Organise daily footage into clearly labelled site folders.
  • Back up all raw media to designated storage.
  • Create a simple index per site.
  • Flag locations needing a re-shoot.
  • Summary of what's been captured & what's outstanding.
  • Curated selection of best images for stakeholders.
  • Highlight risks, blockers or required support.
  • Complete photography and drone coverage of all assigned sites.
  • A fully organised media library including: raw files, edited versions (if required), a site-by-site index, short written summary with recommendations, highlight reels or stitched panoramas, visuals to support presentations or reports.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the below:

  • Experience in photography and drone operation, ideally with a nature or environmental focus.
  • Valid drone licence & ability to operate safely and professionally.
  • Comfortable travelling across England
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
  • Able to work independently and manage varied field conditions.

If this role is of interest, please apply ASAP with an up-to-date word version of your CV and feel free to add links to your portfolio highlighting all your relevant experience or do get in contact ASAP as submitting candidates by close of play on Friday the 13th of February.
