Summary

Outdoorsy person to support the client to go on long weekends at a disabled fishing venue, to assist with setting up the fishing area and provide company. Venues include Spring Pools, Rugby CV23 0EB and Foundation Lake, Mallory Park, Stapleton Ln, Kirkby Mallory, Leicester LE9 7QJ. The client lives in Blaby, 45p a mile will be provided.

Preferred days/times: Thursdays and Sundays 12am – 5pm every other week, time and day may vary.

Tasks/duties: PA to drive and meet client at disabled accessible fishing venue and support client, to support with safety whilst their partner is setting up the fishing equipment for the weekend (Thursday) once set up PA can leave them there to fish.
PA to return to the venue on Sunday and again support client whilst the client’s partner is packing equipment away.

PA will support client by passing equipment whist setting up their own equipment, support to make hot drinks and converse with client.

PA to have a full, clean UK driving license.

Hourly rate: £17 per hour self-employed PA, £13.21 per hour for employed PA
Client main diagnosis: Visual impairment, type 2 diabetic, Osteoarthritis and Stroke (left sided weakness)

Communication: There are no communication barriers

Moving and Handling: the client has limited movement in the knees/hands/shoulders, some weakness in left side and neuropathy in the lower legs/feet. The client has an electric wheelchair and has the use of a walking frame for short distances, which they can manage this themself.

Pets: none

Client enjoys: It is important for the client to be able to get out of the house, greatly improving their mental health, they like fishing and goes all year round.
