Crynodeb
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Research Support Officer (RSO) to join Rotherham, Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust. The postholder will support research aimed at improving timely dementia diagnosis for people from underserved global majority communities. Working within an MDT team, including clinicians, third sector partners, our Grounded Research Team and the Ethnic Minority Research Inclusion Network (EMRI), the role will contribute to the design, delivery and evaluation of research that addresses health inequalities and barriers to diagnostic access.
The RSO will support data collection, analysis and reporting, with a focus on the experiences of underrepresented populations accessing dementia diagnostic services. The role includes supporting participant recruitment, engaging with ethnic minority communities, coordinating study visits and documentation, and ensuring accurate data management in line with NHS research governance requirements. The postholder will also assist with disseminating findings to academic, clinical and community audiences to support improvements in diagnostic pathways and reduce health inequalities.
The postholder will receive management support, supervision and mentoring, with opportunities for CPD and engagement with wider research networks.
