Location: County Hall
Hours: 37 hours per week

Start/Finish: 09:00 – 17:00
About the Client
Cardiff Children’s Services are undertaking a significant project aimed at transforming decision‑making processes and improving outcomes for children and young people. Their focus is on ensuring every child achieves permanence without unnecessary delay. This newly created administrative role will play a key part in supporting the delivery of this project from conception through to implementation. The team is passionate, collaborative, and committed to enabling social work colleagues to deliver the best possible service.
The Role
The Panel Administrator will provide high‑quality administrative support to a small project team, working under the guidance of a supervisor. The role requires strong organisational skills, the ability to manage competing priorities, and confidence working to tight deadlines. You will be responsible for accurate note‑taking, producing clear action points, and ensuring follow‑up tasks are completed. The position involves partnership working with professionals across multiple agencies, requiring excellent communication skills and the ability to navigate conflicting demands while keeping the needs of the child at the centre.
Training and ongoing coaching will be provided to support the successful candidate in transferring their existing skills to the needs of the project.
Key Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive administrative support to the project team
Accurately minute meetings and produce clear action points
Track and follow up actions to ensure timely completion
Manage competing priorities and deadlines effectively
Support the coordination and delivery of project activities
Liaise with professionals across agencies and services
Contribute to the smooth running and implementation of the project
Candidate Requirements
Strong organisational and time‑management skills
Proven experience of accurate note‑taking and action tracking
Ability to work under pressure and manage competing demands
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Confidence working with multi‑agency partners
Problem‑solving skills and the ability to negotiate solutions
