Crynodeb
As a Category Manager you will need to have some experience working in an analytical role within Category Management, where you have had to strategize, drive and implement projects. You will be a proactive and effective team player, able to use data & insight to meet customer demand. You will develop and lead the category, executing strategies to maximise sales and margin by using range, planograms, location, promotions and other appropriate category growth levers whilst controlling waste.

You will enjoy being part of a busy office environment, but you will also be able to work well on your own initiative without direction. You’ll be a confident and enthusiastic communicator and negotiator, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and colleagues.
Our ideal candidate will have:
- FMCG experience
- Good knowledge of the Scottish food retail and convenience store markets
- Practical experience of the category management process.
- The ability to develop a clear vision for the category
- Strong commercial skills
- Demonstrable capability of applying category management thinking
- Understanding of the latest shopper/market insight techniques
- Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint
- The ability to establish & maintain strong links & lines of communication with operations management
- A proven record of promoting cross-functional teamworking
Hours of Work
This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. Daily working hours will generally be 8.30am – 5pm, Monday to Friday, but some flexibility will be required from time to time to meet the needs and requirements of the role
