Ready to impact a better future?
As a Data Transformation Analyst in our Asylum Accommodation and Support Contract (AASC) team, you’ll help strengthen our data quality, analytics capability and overall data governance maturity. You’ll use your technical expertise to bring dashboards, reports and processes to life, helping colleagues make better decisions and improving the accuracy and reliability of data that supports essential public services.
This is meaningful work that contributes to safer, more reliable and more efficient services for vulnerable people. You’ll play a vital role in identifying problems, improving data quality and supporting a culture of innovation across our operations — helping us create impactful solutions that support communities and enable a better future.
What you’ll do as a Data Transformation Analyst
You’ll be entrusted to:
- Maintain the Data Quality Issue Log, ensuring new issues, updates and follow‑up information are captured according to DAMA DMBOK standard.
- Conduct follow‑up calls with issue reporters and support the DQ Manager in drafting requirements for fixes that require developer input.
- Track progress of all open and resolved data quality issues, ensuring visibility across the contract
- Assist in building prototype dashboards to highlight and quantify data errors, initially in Excel and progressing towards Power BI.
- Create practical “What Good Looks Like” guides to support operational teams in improving data quality.
- Support outreach campaigns, gather insights and help present data quality findings to operational colleagues.
- Support on major API quality validation projects and production of subsequent monitoring tools / syntax models
Does this sound like you?
You’ll be a great fit for this role if you have:
- Strong understanding of data structures, data design principles and analytics principles.
- Solid Power BI skills, including data modelling (schemas, relationships, filter direction), DAX and diagnosing modelling or context errors.
- Good Power Query (M) capability, with knowledge of transformations such as Unpivot, Merge/Join and Group By.
- Strong Excel skills, including building dashboards and familiarity with aggregation, string manipulation and arrays.
- Ability to manage challenging conversations, balance competing priorities and navigate change confidently.
Vetting and checks:
This role requires Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance, which involves verifying your identity, employment history, nationality, and criminal record to meet government security standards. In addition, depending on the nature of the role, you may need to obtain formal Security Clearance (such as CTC or SC), which includes more detailed background checks on employment, criminal record, and financial history to ensure suitability for working in secure environments. Please note that UK residency requirements may apply for certain levels of clearance. You will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire so we can identify and provide any support you may need to undertake the role effectively.
