We pride ourselves on providing practical qualifications that meet the needs of both employers and employees, as well as products and services to support our members and customers throughout their careers.

Term: Fixed Term Contract (12 Months)

Location:   We have hybrid working in place, with 1-2 days per week, in our office in Canary Wharf.

We’re looking for a detail-oriented, proactive and collaborative individual with a strong background in finance operations and payroll. You will be confident managing accounts payable processes, reviewing payroll data and supporting financial reporting, all while ensuring accuracy, compliance and excellent service delivery.

What exactly will you be doing?

As an Accounts Payable Supervisor (Financial Services Advisor) you will play a key role in managing the day-to-day operations of the Accounts Payable function, including overseeing the AP staff, and supporting financial reporting and analysis. You will also contribute to supplier and customer credit checks, provide cover across finance functions, and support internal stakeholders with financial queries and training.

You will be part of a supportive and high-performing team, working closely with colleagues across Finance, HR and Procurement to ensure smooth operations and accurate financial data.

Major objectives

Your major objectives will include:

Manage the Accounts Payable function, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, expenses and refunds.
Undertaking monthly reviews of VAT posting.
Support Financial Accountants and Business Partners with staff cost analysis and transactional queries.
Conduct financial suitability checks for suppliers and customers.
Provide cover for the Financial Services Manager and other finance roles as needed.
Deliver finance system training and responding to end-user queries.
Maintain accurate records and contribute to monthly reporting and reconciliations.

What are we looking for?

Strong knowledge of Accounts Payable and VAT posting.
Proven experience in a finance processing role, ideally within a complex organisation.
Experience of managing staff.
Excellent communication, time management and numeracy skills.
Ability to manage a varied workload with attention to detail and accuracy.
Experience using finance systems such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Excel (advanced/intermediate level).
AAT qualified or equivalent.
A flexible, team-oriented approach with a commitment to high standards of customer service.

If you’re passionate about delivering high-quality financial support and want to contribute to a purpose-driven organisation, we’d love to hear from you.

What are the benefits?

At AAT we believe in treating our staff well and this is reflected in our wide-ranging benefits, which include:

Hybrid working (1-2 days per week in our London office) and opportunities for further flexible working.
25 days’ annual leave, increasing one day per year up to a maximum of 30 days plus bank holidays.
Great pension scheme, life assurance and critical illness cover.
Health cash plan.
Enhanced maternity and shared parental leave contributions of up to 6 months’ full pay depending on the length of service.
Regular wellbeing initiatives.
Cycle2Work scheme and much more.

Closing Date: The planned closing date for this role is 22 February 2026 at 17.00, however, we reserve the right to close the role earlier than planned.

It’s an exciting time to join AAT and we would love you to join us on our journey. In 2023 we achieved one-star company status in the Best Companies survey and we have recently launched our strategy to 2030.

We are committed to being an inclusive and welcoming place to work. We encourage applications from diverse candidates and make recruitment decisions based on skill and experience.
